Community Ties and Life Long Connections

Supervisors will learn strategies to foster relationships with social work staff, and how these skills can translate to working with youth to build sustainable relationships and community connections.

Goal

Supervisors and social workers engage community resources and social networks to support youth in developing relationship skills and life long familial and community connections.

Objectives

  1. Supervisors will understand the importance of permanent connections in supporting youths' successful transition to adulthood
  2. Supervisors will learn strategies for identifying youths' personal connections as potential permanency relationships
  3. Supervisors will learn strategies to communicate with kin and foster families in planning for youth.
  4. Supervisors will have an understanding of what resources are available to help youth build the skills needed to acquire in order to achieve self sufficiency.
